One day, she visited Juno, the goddess of Protection. The Peacock told her that she wished to look grand and beautiful. Juno smiled. she was a good bird and juno liked her.
The Peacock then described the long train of brightly colored feathers that he wanted to trail behind him. He also wished to be the loveliest of all the birds!
To her great joy, Juno agreed and granted her what she wished.
What a wonderful tail she got! purple, blue and green with a jewel-like pattern, opening up like a fan when she raised it. Now the Peacock decided to walk like a queen! So she held her head high and walked with style , flaunting her beauty!
The common birds looked at her in surprise! Even the pretty long tailed pheasants were jealous!
After showing off her tail, the Peacock decided to fly but to her greatest shock, she could not fly. she could take a few flying steps, but nothing more! she sadly realised that she had lost a wonderful ability, simply because she had wanted to look good!
Moral
Contentment is natural wealth, luxury is artificial poverty
Think well before you choose what you want in life.
