A story was shared of an old man who wanted to spade his potato garden, but owing to his old age, he could not. His only son, who
would have helped him out, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and
mentioned his predicament."Dear
Son, It's unfortunate you are no longer here with me to help out because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my
potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden because your mother
always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden
plot. If you were here, it would have been easier because I know you would dig the
plot for me, any ways, hope is not lost. i'll be doing the little i can till your release. love Dad.Shortly after, the old man received a telegram which says:
‘For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the garden! That’s where I buried the guns!’ At very early the next morning, a dozen of detectives agents and local police
officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.
Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had
happened, and asked if truly he hid any gun but the son reply was: ‘Go ahead and
plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s the best and only way I thought i could help you out even while i'm in detention.’Moral:
Never allow circumstance to limit you in any way, no matter how tight the situation may be.
