IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO REST ON LAURELS

One day a rich mogul requested an audience with a priest, and the priest already knew what was coming. But as  a good leader and servant must do, he acorded him a listening ear. The mogul  brought news of all the wealth he had achieved so far including two companies, awards, houses he has built and the least of his assets he metioned was his 10 different brand of cars. He talked for a long time about his accomplishment, piling detail upon detail.

The priest listened closely through out the entire narration, but said nothing. Soon the rich narrator was disappointed. He had hoped for a more enthusiastic reception, as well as the priest's congratulations. Neither was forthcoming.

Summing up, he repeated much of what he had already stated. As he rambled on, The priest continued to listen politely, but the mogul's driver having overstayed his hour waiting for his boss, cut in and said "excuse me sir, please can i close for the day?" "Oh yeah, you can drop the car key and go", replied the mogul. The driver delightfully dropped the key and walked away. The mogul continued, interpreting  the priest's countenance as encouragement. Surely, he thought, the priest will now give me the praise I so richly deserve.
When  he finally stopped talking, The priest asked him one question: "Why do you allow your driver to go on foot every day when you said you have 10 cars?
The mogul was speechless. But the lesson was not lost on him. From then on,he understood that he should never rest on his laurels when he has so much neglect. So he left it to others to bestow the praise.
Moral;
You are not yet a success until you affect others with what you have.

Later he went back to that restaurant to see those three men but he couldn't find them.
When he inquired from the waiters, they gave him a letter that the old men left behind and he opened it, and he read;

THE MONKEY AND THE BEE

A male monkey saw a thick syrup under a tree. The syrup looked very attractive to consume.  The Monkey saw more drops of the syrup falling from a branch of the tree and salivates uncontrollably. He thought, ‘Oh! That must be honey!’
The Monkey looked up. He saw high above him, a hive. He also saw that the Bees were buzzing and working together to make the honey.
He wished that he could climb up, break off a piece of the hive, chew it and enjoy the fresh honey! But he couldn't move at all after he sadly remembered, the last incident of what happened to his face, Just  when he tried to steal honey from the hive as the angry Bees had stung him! It was so painful!’
He sighed continuously over this!
He saw a Bee flying up to the hive and was looking at him. The Monkey asked the Bee, “Why  are you staring at me that way,  you wicked tiny bee, you have such a gift to make such a sweet wonderful liquid , and at the same time, carry such a horribly painful sting”

The Bee shrugged and said, “Oh Yea! what do you expect. you know our good work tastes sweet; but you must also know that when someone tries to steal it, our anger can be just as bitter! because it cost us something”

THE STORY OF AN OLD MAN

A story was shared of an old man who wanted to spade his potato garden, but   owing to his old age, he could not. His only son, who would have helped him out, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his predicament."Dear Son, It's unfortunate you are no longer here with me to help out because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, it would have been easier because I know you would dig the plot for me, any ways, hope is not lost. i'll be doing the little i can till your release. love Dad.Shortly after, the old man received a telegram which says: ‘For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the garden! That’s where I buried the guns!’ At very early the next morning, a dozen of detectives agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns. Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had happened, and asked if truly he hid any gun but the son reply was: ‘Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s the best and only way I thought i could help you out even while i'm in detention.’Moral:

Two arguing cats

Two cats were prowling together. One of the cats saw a big cake and "mieued." The other unhesitatingly dived it.
The first cat said, “Give me the cake.  I first saw it after-all.”
The other cat said “You dare me, i will beat you. It is I who first picked it up.”
They  argued and shortly started fighting . But there was no solution. Just then, a monkey passed by. He thought “What foolish cats they must be! Let me make use of this chance.”
He approached the cats and said in a loud voice. “Stop the fight. Let me share the cake among you both”. The cake was handed over to the monkey.
The monkey split the cake into two unequal parts. He shook his head and said, “Oh! One is bigger. One is smaller”. He had a bit of the bigger and now said “Oh! This has become smaller now”. He ate from the other. And thus, he went on eating from part to part and finally finished the whole cake.
The two cats were disappointed.

THE WHITE ELEPHANT AND THE PIG STORY

One day, some zoologists were in a search of white elephant in the forest. While talking about how they would tour the white elephant round the world, which was their motive should they find one, a pig eavesdropped to their conversation and said to himself, “why are these men after the elephant alone when likewise fat animal like me is around the corner, I think it’s needful to showcase my huge body if I would be considered”. The pig knowing fully, he’s equally fat, decided to walk gigantically like the elephant, approaching the hunters.
“Could that be an elephant coming?” asked one of the men. Immediately they climbed a tree to see the size of the elephant but contrary to their expectation it was a pig. Out of anger, one pulled the trigger and killed the pig.

"workaholic little ant, wont you give your self some rest and come join me chirping? you seem to be working too hard for my liking."why are you like this?" he asked.

"Oh never mind". She said, "I am gathering up food for the winter. Sunny days won't last for ever."

The grasshopper laughed and said"Winter is still far, you have all the time to do that."
Shortly after, stormed the winter, but the ant settled down in her snug house and eat satisfactorily. She had plenty of food to last the whole winter. The grasshopper had nothing to eat so, he went to the ant and begged her for a little corn.

"No", replied the ant, "you laughed at me when I worked and played lazily. Now its my turn to laugh because he who laugh last always laugh best".

Vengeance Story

Once upon a time, there lived a King, his Son and two Parrots. The Prince and the Baby Parrot were best of friends and very fond of each other. The Prince who was so fond of birds, got a sparrow and petted it which got the parrot angry as the Sparrow was his enemy.
One day, while the king was away, a fight ensued between the parrot and the sparrow as the Parrot pecked the Sparrow. The shocked Prince picked the dead Sparrow and in anger, killed the Parrot.
When the father of the Baby Parrot heard the sad news that his son was killed by the prince, he attacked the Prince and pierced both his eyes. Then he flew to a tall tree for safety.
The Prince requested that the Parrot Forget all that has happened, and  return.
The King added, “It is destiny that has brought such a sad tragedy that your child should die and mine become blind, so come back home
The Parrot replied, “How can I trust you, after what has happened? I'll rather be far from you, than to experience your love turned to hate.”

THE( EBOLA) MOUSE TRAP

One day, a mouse peeped through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. "What good might be this for the animals?" the mouse wondered. shortly he was disappointed to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said "Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and warned "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig though sympathized, but said "I am sorry, Mr.Mouse, there is nothing I can do about it as it's no business of me".
The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow laughed loud and said "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."
So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.
shortly after when it was dark, a sound was heard throughout the house - like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever.
Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many! people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.
The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember: when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another. Each of us is a vital thread in another person's tapestry.
